Apply for Recognition of International Qualifications
Currently international qualifications are being recognised for Dietitians, Dispensing Opticians (General Division), Dispensing Opticians (Contact Lenses Division), Occupational Therapists, Optometrists, Physiotherapists, Radiographers and Radiation Therapists, Social Workers and Speech and Language Therapists. If your profession is not listed here please see our page with information about other competent authorities.
Note: If your international qualification has already been recognised/validated by a previous Competent Authority in Ireland, it is not necessary to apply to CORU to have your qualifications recognised again. You may apply for registration directly.
(Please Note: If you are a Speech and Language Therapist you must also read the additional Speech and Language Therapist Guidance Notes.)

Complete the application form and submit along with your supporting documents

Note: Certain Physiotherapists can apply using the European Professional Card (EPC) route
Please pay the fee online. A receipt will issue to you by email. Please retain your receipt and include a copy with your application.

Standards of Proficiency
Applications for recognition are measured against the standards of proficiency for the profession, the standards required of graduates from an Irish approved program for entry to the Register. The standards of proficiency are listed here.
