Dr David Irwin is a senior lecturer and programme manager in Technological University Dublin. He has served on Council since 2015.
At national level, he has served on a number of committees including the Governing Body of Dublin City University and the Development Education Committee at the Department of Foreign Affairs. Since 2006, he has served as a lay member on Mental Health Tribunals for the Mental Health Commission. After obtaining primary and master’s degrees from University College Cork, he received his doctorate from Ulster University. He also holds an LLB in Irish Law from Griffith College Dublin as well as a Professional Diploma in Professional Regulation from University College Dublin.
While serving as a member of Council he chaired the committee to develop the Statement of Strategy (2017-2021). He currently is Chair of the Education Committee; in addition, he is a member on the Professional Practice Advisory Committee, and chairs hearings of the Appeals Committee.
