Vincent Roche

Vincent brings a wealth of public service, senior management and board experience to the Optical Registration Board. He worked for ten years in the Department of Social Welfare and four years in the Department of Industry and Commerce before moving to the North Western Regional Fisheries Board in Ballina where he served for twenty five years as CEO.

During Vincent’s term as CEO, the Mayo/ Sligo area was developed into a world class angling tourism destination. At national level, he chaired the National Angling Marketing Group, was a member of the National Salmon Commission and served on a Working Group to oversee restructuring of the fisheries service in 2010. Following early retirement, he chaired the Mayo North Tourism Steering Group. He was member of the Western Development Commission from 2011 to 2014, was Acting Chair of the Commission for a period and a member of the Audit Committee. He has recently been appointed a Director of the South Connaught Board of the Citizens Information Service.

Vincent has extensive experience in governance, financial management, HR and industrial relations as well as in management, development and regulation of the inland fisheries sector. He holds a Professional Certificate in Governance from the Institute of Public  Administration (Level 9, University College Dublin accredited).
