Preliminary Proceedings Committee Chairperson
CORU now invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced non-registrants (lay people) who are interested in being appointed to the role of Chairperson of the Preliminary Proceedings Committee.
As part of CORU’s statutory objective to protect the public, the Preliminary Proceedings Committee is an investigating committee established by CORU to consider fitness to practise complaints about Health and Social Care Professionals.
When complaints are received by CORU, they go to the Preliminary Proceedings Committee. The Committee looks at each complaint received by CORU to decide whether:
- it should be referred onwards for resolution by mediation OR
- for hearing to a Committee of Inquiry OR
- no further action should be taken.
