Optical Registration Board - Notice of Election and Request for Nominations

As provided for in the Election of Members for Appointment to the Optical Registration Board Bye-Law 2017, this is the official notice of the holding of the 2021 election of three members to the Optical Registration Board and request for nominations of candidates.

Vacancies arise in the following three Electoral Categories
  • Category 1A: One vacancy for an Optometrist registrant who is engaged in the practice of the profession as an Optometrist 
  • Category 1B: One vacancy for a Dispensing Optician registrant who is engaged in the practice of the profession as a Dispensing Optician
  • Category 2: One vacancy for an Optometrist registrant who is engaged in the management of services provided by the profession of optometry

Members appointed to the Registration Board will hold office for a term of not more than 4 years as specified by the Minister at the time of appointment.

Nomination Papers must be returned to: P. Byrne, Returning Officer, CORU, Infinity Building, George’s Court, George’s Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7, D07 E98Y.

The closing date for receipt of nominations is 12 noon on Tuesday 17 November 2020. If a poll is to be held, the closing date for receipt of ballot papers is 5pm on Friday 08 January 2021.
