Podiatrists Registration Board: CORU CPD Standard and Requirements
This consultation is now closed.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is one of the key mechanisms used to foster high standards of professional conduct and professional education, training and competence among registrants.
The Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics requires registrants to keep their knowledge and skills up to date. CPD is a mechanism for maintaining registrant’s professional knowledge and skills.
CORU recently completed a comprehensive review of its CPD approach. This review highlighted that registrants wanted further support and guidance on how to demonstrate their engagement in CPD and achievement of new or enhanced learning.
As a result, the Podiatrists Registration Board is consulting on a CPD approach and have issued the following documents for feedback from Stakeholders.
Registrants should note that the requirement to engage in CPD as per your Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics remains unchanged.
The Podiatrists Registration Board is consulting on the following documents:
- CPD Guidance Document that provides direction for registrants on the behaviours required to support compliance with your Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics
- CPD Support Document offers tools that can help you as a registrant to build and demonstrate those behaviours and ultimately meet your CPD requirements under your Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
The Podiatrists Registration Board welcome feedback on the new CPD approach. The CPD Guidance and CPD Support Documents can also be accessed via the consultation survey here.
