Update from the Recognition Department
The Recognition Department handles the process of assessing the qualifications and experience of Health and Social Care Professionals who have qualified outside the State and who wish to register with CORU.
CORU’s Recognition Policy, which sets out the policy basis for assessing qualifications acquired outside the State for compliance with CORU’s Standards of Proficiency for our regulated professions, has been updated and revised. The new policy will take effect from 26 August 2019.
Move to online application processing
CORU is currently in the latter stages of testing a new system for applications for recognition of qualifications to be made and progressed online. This new service will streamline and clarify the process for applicants and is expected to be fully live at the start of Quarter 4 2019.
Between 01 January and 15 July 2019, some 430 qualifications were assessed for recognition in nine professions.
