A New CORU-Approved Qualification for Social Care Workers
We are pleased to announce the signing and sealing of the Social Care Workers Registration Board Approved Qualifications Bye-law 2025 at the CORU offices. This important milestone was marked by the presence of Helena Doody, Chairperson of the Social Care Workers Registration Board, and Lisa Molloy, Board Member.
With the approval of the Minister for Health, this bye-law now formally recognises an additional programme, allowing its graduates to register with the Social Care Workers Registration Board. The newly approved qualification is:
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Health and Social Care, Atlantic Technological University.
This programme now joins the list of 46 CORU-approved qualifications for Social Care Workers. The update reflects the dedication and collaborative effort of the Registration Board, the CORU executive, and academic partners involved in the development and delivery of this programme.
In addition, the bye-law has been amended to reflect the updated title of another existing qualification:
- Honours Bachelor of Arts (Social Care), University of Galway.
