Over 820 newly graduated health and social care professionals join CORU Register

CORU has approved the registration of more than 820 newly qualified health and social care professionals so far in 2026, supporting the continued delivery of vital health and social care services across Ireland.

The registrations span 12 professions, including social workers, social care workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical scientists, radiographers and radiation therapists, speech and language therapists, opticians and optometrists, podiatrists and dietitians.

As of 28 August 2026, the highest numbers of approved graduate registrations were recorded in Social Work (188), Physiotherapy (165), Medical Science (114) and Occupational Therapy (91).

Registration is a key public protection measure, ensuring that health and social care professionals meet the standards required to practise safely and effectively. CORU continues to process graduate registration applications as newly qualified professionals enter the workforce.

"We are pleased to welcome more than 820 newly qualified health and social care professionals to the CORU Register this year so far. These graduates will play an important role in supporting health and social care services across Ireland, and we look forward to continuing to process applications from this year's graduating classes."

2026 graduates who have not yet applied for registration are encouraged to do so via the CORU online portal to ensure they can practise and use their protected title.
