FAQs on the Launch of CORU's New Registrant Management System
As we prepare to launch our new Registrant Management System, CORU has compiled the below Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQ”) to provide detailed information on what to expect, how the new system will improve your experience, and how you can prepare for the transition.
- What is the purpose of CORU’s new Registrant Management System?
CORU’s new Registrant Management System is designed to centralise and streamline statutory processes, including international qualifications recognition, registration and continued professional development (“CPD”) audit. This unified platform will simplify how applicants and registrants interact with CORU, with improved efficiency and access to real-time updates for users.
- When will the new system be launched?
The new Registrant Management System will go live on Monday, 25 November 2024. It will be available to all professions regulated by CORU, for new applicants, continuing internationally qualified applicants and registrants.
- What is happening to the current systems?
The current Recognition and Registration systems will be permanently shut down on 19 November 2024. This temporary downtime is necessary for migrating data and setting up the new platform. During this period, users will not have access to their accounts to complete applications, pay renewal fees or access their certificate, or view registration details. All data will be securely held and transferred to the new system during the shutdown period.
- What are the main benefits of the new system for applicants and registrants?
The updated platform has been designed with user accessibility in mind, aiming to streamline and improve the experience of all users. Key benefits include:
- A unified application process: The system brings all application types - such as international qualification recognition applicants, new Irish graduates and grandparenting applicants - into a single, streamlined process.
- Real-time application status: Applicants will have access to real-time updates, so they you can monitor your application progress from submission to approval.
- Enhanced communication: Users can communicate directly with CORU staff through a portal on the platform, enabling faster and more effective support.
- Simplified renewals: The renewal process has been updated for quicker, easier completion.
- CPD audit: Registrants will be able to complete and submit their completed CPD portfolios within the system going forward, streamlining the CPD audit process.
- Digital forms: The transition from paper to digital forms will improve accessibility and reduce administrative tasks, whether requesting a Letter of Good Standing or requesting to be voluntarily removed from the register, the process will be more streamlined and user-friendly.
- How will this change affect my current application or renewal process?
If you have an open application for recognition (international qualification applicants) or registration or renewal of your existing registration is due, you are encouraged to provide all outstanding documents or renew your existing registration by 19 November 2024, before the old systems shuts down. This will prevent delays in processing and ensure a smoother transition. For any international qualification recognition applications still being processed or renewals not yet complete, you will still be able to resume and complete them in the new system after it launches on 25 November 2024 using the new portal.
- I am a current registrant. How does this system update impact me?
As a current registrant, the system update will affect how you manage your registration and renewal processes.
- Temporary downtime: From 19 November until 25 November 2024, you will not be able to access your account to complete renewals or access your Certificate of Registration.
- Renewal and CPD Audits: With the new system, registrants can more easily track their renewal and CPD requirements within the system. From mid-2025 registrants will be able to complete and submit their CPD audit portfolios through the system.
- Important Note: If your renewal deadline is close to the system launch date, please consider completing it before the old system shutdown to avoid any disruptions.
- How can I prepare for the system transition?
To ensure a smooth transition to the new system, here are some recommendations:
- Complete in-progress applications: If you have started but not yet submitted an application, please submit it before 19 November 2024. Don’t worry if you do not complete your application before the shutdown period, if you are an international qualification recognition applicant you can continue with your application in the new system.
- Review deadlines: If your renewal date is near and you have not yet renewed, consider completing it early to avoid disruptions.
- Stay informed: Check CORU’s website and social media channels for further information and updates as we approach the launch date.
