New Application System Resources
CORU uses an online application system for those applying for registration, which includes recognition of international qualifications.

Frequently Asked Questions – CORU Registration System (Thentia Cloud)
Answers to common questions users may have about CORU’s new Registrant Management System, which launched on 25 November 2024.
1. How do I access the new Registrant Management System?
To access the system:
- Visit the CORU Health and Social Care Professionals website.
- Choose one of these options on the portal landing page:
- Applicant Portal: For starting or continuing an application.
- Registrants Portal: For managing your registration (e.g., renewals, CPD)
- Public Register: For real-time information about registrants.
2. I had an application in the old Recognition (International Qualifications) system. What happens now?
Important Note: Your old account password will not work when logging into the new system. You must follow the steps below when logging in for the first time.
- Visit the Applicant Portal.
- Select ‘Reset Password’ at the bottom of the page.
- Enter the email address you used in the old system.
- Check your email for a temporary password (look for an email titled “Sign in with a temporary password”).
- Once you have entered your temporary password you will be asked to set your own password.
- Set up two-factor authentication (via email code or security questions).
- Once you have entered your security code or answered your security questions you will be logged in.
- Once logged in, you will see your application. Click Continue to proceed.
3. My account is locked, what should I do?
Your account will be locked after three failed login attempts – whether with your password or two-factor authentication.
Email registration@coru.ie, and we will unlock your account.
4. What if I finished the Recognition process in the old system?
If your qualification was recognised in the old system (i.e. the recognition process was complete) you can now complete the Registration process.
- Visit the Applicant Portal.
- Click Continue on your application.
- You will proceed to Step 13 to complete the Registration components of the application and pay the Registration fee of €100.
5. How can I upload documents as part of my application?
You will receive a notification from us if we require outstanding documentation from you.
In order to submit your outstanding documentation, you must:
- Log in to the Applicant Portal.
- Go to the Missing Documents page on the left-hand side.
- Upload the required documents listed.
6. Are there training resources available to help me navigate the system?
CORU have several resources to assist applicants:
- Thentia Resources Page: for user manuals.
- YouTube: for an overview of the application submission process.
7. What if I can’t log in or face technical issues with the new system?
- Ensure you are using the correct login credentials.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
- Try logging in from a different device or browser.
- Reset your password using the "Reset Password" link if necessary.
