Appointments to Council and Registration Boards - April to September 2021
The Minister for Health made a number of appointments and re-appointments to Council and Registration Boards between April – September 2021.
Health and Social Care Professionals Council
Michael Francis Redmond was appointed as a representative of the management of a voluntary/private sector organisation concerned with health or social care. Alan Hughes was appointed as a representative of the management of the public health/social care sector.
Podiatrists Registration Board
Éamonn Kelly was appointed as a representative of the interest of the general public.
Dietitians Registration Board
John Byrne and Colm Scott Byrne were appointed as representatives of the interest of the general public. Jan Guerin was appointed as a representative of third level educational establishments involved in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession.
Medical Scientists Registration Board
Karen Watret was appointed as a representative of the interest of the general public.
Occupational Therapists Registration Board
Catriona Sweeney was appointed as a representative engaged in the practice of the profession. Hassan Dugow was appointed as a representative from the profession engaged in the management of services provided by it. Katie Robinson was appointed as a representative engaged in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession. Michael Bergin was appointed as a representative of third level education establishments involved in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession.
Optical Registration Board
Michael Moore was appointed as a representative engaged in the practice of the profession. Ursula Byrne was appointed as a representative of the interest of the general public. Gordon Chambers was appointed as a representative of third level educational establishments involved in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession. Vincent Roche was re-appointed as a representative of the interest of the general public and Derville Pitcher was re-appointed as a representative involved in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession.
Physiotherapists Registration Board
Corinne Evans was appointed as a representative engaged in the practice of the profession. Róna McLoughlin was appointed as a representative engaged in the management of services provided by the profession.
Social Workers Registration Board
Pat Bennett was appointed a representative of the management of a voluntary/private sector organisation concerned with health or social care. Miriam O’Callaghan and Hugh Farrell were appointed as representatives of the interest of the general public.
Radiographers Registration Board
Michelle Leech was appointed as a representative engaged in the management of services provided by the profession. David Delaney was appointed as a representative of the management of a voluntary/private sector organisation concerned with health or social care.
Social Care Workers Registration Board
Helena Doody was appointed as a representative engaged in the practice of the profession. Noelle Reilly was appointed as representative engaged in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession. Patrick McGarty was appointed as a representative of the management of the public health/social care sector. Jessica Bartak-Healy was appointed as a representative of the management of a voluntary/private sector organisation concerned with health or social care. Lisa Molloy and Anne Marie Cullen were appointed as representatives of the interest of the general public.
Psychologists Registration Board
Stephen Kealy was appointed as a representative engaged in the management of services provided by the profession. Joan Fitzgerald and Kathleen Vickers were re-appointed as representatives of the interest of the general public. Fiona Weldon was re-appointed as a representative practicing in the profession and Sinead Fitzgerald was re-appointed as a representative engaged in the management of services provided by the profession. Gráinne Kirwan was re-appointed as a representative engaged in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession. Eimear Spain was re-appointed as a representative of third level educational establishments involved in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession.
