Róna McLaughlin

Róna graduated in 1995 from the University of Ulster with a BSc. (Hons) in Physiotherapy. Over the last thirty years she has worked as a clinician, student educator and clinical manager across a wide range of private and public healthcare organisations in Ireland and Australia.

Róna is passionate about and committed to quality improvement within the Physiotherapy profession. In her current role as Physiotherapy Manager in Donegal HSE Primary Care she has been responsible for the development and implementation of a range of healthcare initiatives and has contributed to the development of a new undergraduate Physiotherapy programme in the Atlantic Technological University, Letterkenny.

Academically, Róna has been the clinical lead on various research projects in the University of Ulster and The National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). She presented a research paper on behalf of the HSE at the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) Conference in Spain in 2019. She holds a first class Masters degree in Medical Science (NUIG) and a Diploma in Orthopaedic and Rheumatological Medicine (ISORM). She has completed numerous clinical training programmes including clinical supervision, leadership, coaching, audit and governance.
