Michael Moore

Michael Moore qualified with a BSc Optometry from DIT in 2008. He has completed several postgraduate qualifications including a MSc in Cataract & Refractive Surgery, postgraduate diplomas in Ocular Therapeutics and Third Level Education and is also completing his PhD in Refractive Error Epidemiology. Since qualifying Michael has worked across many areas in optometry having worked in all types of optometric practice from small independent practices to large multiples to ophthalmology clinics. Currently, Michael works in practice in Specsavers Stillorgan where he specialises in complex contact lens fitting and as a lecturer in TU Dublin lecturing on topics relating to ocular disease, contact lenses and law & ethics. Michael has also sat as an optometry registrant member of CORU’s Preliminary Proceedings Committee for 5 years. Michael would like to see optometry’s scope of practice develop further in Ireland and has a particular interest in shared care and ocular therapeutics.
