Restoration Procedure
If a registrant has been removed from the Register, they may apply for restoration by completing the request via the registration online portal. Please refer to the below tables for the correct links. An applicant/registrant must satisfy the Registration Board that they have met all requirements to return to the Register.
Applicants may be required to complete additional requirements relating to Return to Practice provisions.
Vetting: You may be required to complete National Vetting Bureau (‘NVB’) eVetting. Once your restoration application is submitted, you will be contacted by the Registration department via the CORU portal if you are required to complete NVB eVetting.
Police Clearance: If you have lived abroad for longer than one year and one day or longer following your removal from the register, you must provide an original or certified copy of a certificate of criminal clearance (to be obtained from the local police authority). The length of time required to obtain such a certificate will vary from one country to the next and it is advised to make early contact with the relevant police authority.
Restoration fees: The fee payable depends on whether an individual came off the register voluntarily (see below) or they were removed from the register for failure to pay fees (see below).
Applying for Restoration: You can make your application for restoration via the applicant/registrant online portal as linked in the below table. Please note that there is a different link provided in the table below for those who have been removed for less than six months compared to those who have been removed for more than six months. Please ensure you select the correct link.
