Restoration Procedure
If a registrant has been removed from the Register, they may apply for restoration by completing the relevant Restoration Application Forms as seen below. They must satisfy the Registration Board that they have met all requirements in order to return to the Register.
Applicants may be required to complete additional requirements relating to Return to Practice provisions.
Vetting: If applying for restoration more than six months after a removal date, an individual will be Vetted again. Any individual in this position is advised to begin the restoration process as soon as they know when they wish to return to the Register. Please click here to download an NVB vetting invitation form.
Police Clearance: If you have lived abroad for longer than one year and one day or longer following your removal from the register, you must provide an original or certified copy of a certificate of criminal clearance (to be obtained from the local police authority). The length of time required to obtain such a certificate will vary from one country to the next and it is advised to make early contact with the relevant police authority.
Restoration fees: The fee payable depends on whether an individual came off the register voluntarily (see below) or they were removed from the register for failure to pay fees (see below).

If a person has been removed from the register for non-payment of fees, and in cases where that person seeks to be registered more than six months after annual renewal date, the only option/route available is to apply for registration under section 38.
Persons who were previously registered under the transition/grandparenting provisions of section 91 may not be eligible for registration under section 38.
The standard application fee is €100.
The standard online application process is not available to those who seek restoration to the register. Please contact CORU for further details.
