Restoration Procedure
If a registrant has been removed from the Register, they may apply for restoration by completing the request via the registration online portal. Please refer to the below tables for the correct links. An applicant/registrant mustsatisfy the Registration Board that they have met all requirements to return to the Register.
Applicants may be required to complete additional requirements relating to Return to Practice provisions.
Vetting: If applying for restoration more than six months after a removal date, an individual will be Vetted again. Any individual in this position is advised to begin the restoration process as soon as they know when they wish to return to the Register. Please click here to download an NVB vetting invitation form, You will be required to complete this form if removed from the register for more than six months. You must complete this form and upload it via the online portal.
Police Clearance: If you have lived abroad for longer than one year and one day or longer following your removal from the register, you must provide an original or certified copy of a certificate of criminal clearance (to be obtained from the local police authority). The length of time required to obtain such a certificate will vary from one country to the next and it is advised to make early contact with the relevant police authority.
Restoration fees: The fee payable depends on whether an individual came off the register voluntarily (see below) or they were removed from the register for failure to pay fees (see below).

Please note that there is a different link provided in the table below for those who have been removed for less than six months compared to those who have been removed for more than six months. Please ensure you select the correct link.

The restoration fees as set out in this table were approved by Council at its meeting on 30 March 2017. The fees are effective for restoration applications received on or after 31 March 2017.

Application for restoration to the register more than six months after the annual renewal date
When six months after the annual renewal date have passed, there is no restoration process available to those who have been removed from the register for non-payment of retention fees.
If a person has been removed from the register for non-payment of fees, and in cases where that person seeks to be registered more than six months after annual renewal date, the only option/route available is to apply for registration under section 38. You make a section 38 application via the online portal at this link.
Persons who were previously registered under the transition/grandparenting provisions of section 91 may not be eligible for registration under section 38.
The standard application fee is €100.
The standard online application process is not available to those who seek restoration to the register. Please contact CORU for further details.
