Margaret Boland has a strong track record in transformational leadership and quality improvement in the health care academic environment. Since 2015 Margaret is the General Manager/ CEO of Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown (CHB) with overall corporate responsibility and accountability for services delivered in addition to financial management, data management and performance improvement in the hospital.
Before taking up her current post Margaret worked in St Vincent’s University Hospital for 26 years, initially as a Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department, quickly moving into managerial positions. In 2004 she was Assistant Director of Nursing in the Emergency Department, Ambulatory Day Care, Infection Prevention and Control Department. After 4 years in this role, Margaret was appointed Clinical Services Manager and stayed in the post until she became the Director of Scheduled and Unscheduled Care Operations in Perioperative and Diagnostic Directorate in 2014.
Margaret was awarded her Certificate in General Nursing in 1980 and has continued to study throughout her career. She has been awarded several qualifications including a certificate in midwifery, Diplomas in First Line Management and in Teaching Methods and a Graduate Diploma in Nursing. Her most recent achievement is an MSc in Creative Leadership and Organisational Learning from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin.
