About the Social Workers Registration Board
The Minister for Health and Children appointed the Social Workers Registration Board on 5 August 2010.
The Social Workers Registration Board at CORU has statutory responsibility for:
- Maintaining the Register of members
- Assessment, approval and monitoring of training courses for the health and social care professions
- Established the code of professional conduct and ethics and standards of performance to which social workers must adhere
The Board is also the designated Competent Authority and is responsible for recognition of qualifications gained outside the State.
