Jen Moloney

Jen graduated from the University of Galway with a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy in 2009 and began her clinical career in the NHS. In 2011, she moved back to Ireland to join the SLT Department in Beaumont Hospital, where she held a number of senior roles in both Older Persons Rehabilitation and Practice Education.

 

In 2017, Jen took up the role of Senior SLT for Specialist Palliative Care services in Milford Hospice in Limerick, while also lecturing part-time in Trinity College Dublin. In 2019, she joined the SLT Department in University Hospital Limerick where she worked as the Clinical Specialist SLT for the Stroke and Neurology services.

 

Jen currently works as the Speech and Language Therapist Manager for the University of Limerick Hospital Group – a role she has held since 2020. She successfully defended her PhD in Trinity College Dublin in 2022. Her thesis explored international clinical practice patterns when supporting quality of life in persons with dysphagia following stroke. She continues to contribute to the teaching of postgraduate students in Trinity College Dublin, with a focus on quality of life and patient-reported outcome measures in the dysphagia population.
