Antonia Hussey

I am Antonia Hussey and have been practising as a Speech and Language Therapist since graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 1988. I have worked as a speech and language Therapist in Canada, and in Ireland. I worked in Beaumont Hospital for 29 years in a number of clinical areas including ENT, neurosurgery and I worked at the National Hearing and Implant Research Centre working with babies and children who are deaf and undergoing assessment for and/or cochlear implantation.

Since January 2024 I have been working as a senior speech and language Therapist with Family Matters, Liffey Partnership which is an Area Based childhood early mental health programmes. I provide Early Years and school based speech and language therapy. Part of my remit is on prevention, as well as universal and targeted intervention in educational facilities. Parents and guardians as well as teachers are all considered part of a “wrap around“ service.

I am a member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and have been a member of the Speech and Language registration board of CORU since 2023.
